Hilda LeBlanc "Sweetpea" Rogers Funeral servides will be held at 1 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 29, 200 in Delhomme Bertrand Chapel of the Flowers for Hilda M. Sweetpea Rogers, 81, who died at 11?20 a.m. Thursday April 27, 200 at Lafayette General Hospital. Rev. Monsignor Harry Benefiel will celebrate the Mass internment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley, Louisiana. Mrs. Rogers, former Hilda "Sweetpea" Rogers was a native of Crowley, the daughter of the late Alphee LeBlanc and the former Alice Mauboules. A graduate of St Michael High School in Crowley. She then attneded SLI, now U.L. where she was a member of the red jackets and Phi Mu sorority. A resident of Lafayette since 1937, she taught at Spencer Business College and later at Souther Technical College, retiring after teaching for 20 years. Mrs Rogers was an active member of St. Jules Catholic Church, receiving the Honorius Denarisu Award from the Bishop in 1997 for Charity work she had done. A pink lady at Lafayette General serving over a thousand voulnteer hours. Ladies committee of the Krewe of Gabriel. Sweetpea lived her life to the fullest loving her family, treasured friends and church. Mrs. Rogers is survived by two sons and their wives, Tom and Carol Jackson Rogers of Pensacola, Fla and Robert and Evalyn Adams Rogers of Lafayette. One daughter and her husband Janice and Bill Bolivar of Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Two sisters, Louise L. Barbour of Crowley and Frances Johnson of Lake Charles and one Brother, Leo LeBlanc of Crowley and his wife Jeanette. A sister in Law, Mrs Paul (Thelma) LeBlanc of Crowley, five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Joe Rogers, her second husband Ernie Massimine, two brothers, Paul and Harvey LeBlanc and a sister, Leona Mac Gregor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations in her memory be made to St. Jules Catholic Church, American Heart Association or your favorite charity. The funeral is under the direction of Delhomme Funeral Home, Bertrand Drive, Lafayette.
